What happens in the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place finale trailer?

Disney unveiled the official four-part finale trailer for Wizards Beyond Waverly earlier today. The trailer confirms that the final four episodes will premiere as a marathon on the Disney Channel on August 4, 2026. All episodes will be available on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets the next day, August 5.

The trailer picks up after the dramatic ending of Season 2. Billie is still struggling with Alex Russo’s disappearance, and the trailer shows her mother isn’t gone for good. She later learns that rescuing her mother will require reconnecting with her long-lost father, Damien Penwulf. The Russos band together to find Alex, and Billie comes to understand that their combined magic may be the only way to take down the evil threatening them.

Solena Gomez makes her comeback as Alex Russo in multiple episodes. The finale also marks an important phase in her career, as she makes her directorial debut by directing the premiere episode of the four-part event. She serves as an executive producer on the series alongside David Henrie, who reprises his role as Justin Russo.

The trailer also showcases the return of Jennifer Stone as Harper Finkle and Gregg Sulkin as Mason Greyback. These two faces are among the most loved characters from the original Wizards of Waverly Place series.

The main cast also includes Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, Taylor Cora, and Mimi Gianopulos. Brandon Michael Hall joins the finale as Damien Penwulf, Billie’s long-lost father. Other returning guest stars include Jennifer Stone, Gregg Sulkin, Maria Canals-Barrera, and Tobias Jelinek.

Created by Todd Greenwald, this series serves as the sequel to Disney’s hit sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 to 2012. The revival has been a strong performer for Disney, attracting both longtime fans and new viewers. Both seasons of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place are now available to stream on Disney Plus.
