Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender ahead of its official release on streaming. Fans can finally look forward to watching the film, also known as The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, after it was leaked in its entirety. The animated feature is set following the finale of the original show.
The film’s synopsis reads, “Based on the animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this new story in the Avatar universe sees Aang learn of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. With the help of his friends, he embarks on a global quest to find it before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens to upend the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve.”

What is the release date for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender?
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender will release on July 25, 2026 on Paramount+. The film will also have a presence at San Diego Comic-Con, which starts on July 23, 2026. The first day of the panel will be attended by the film’s voice actors and creative team, while fans will be able to watch the movie on July 24, one day before the rest of the world.
The film was originally scheduled to release in theaters, but following its leak in April, Paramount canceled plans regarding its initial distribution. The incident upset many animators working on the film, followed by the leaker’s arrest. Elsewhere, the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 released on Netflix to low viewership.
The film features a voice cast that includes Eric Nam, Dave Bautista, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, Steven Yeun, Dionne Quan, Freida Pinto, Ke Huy Quan, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Ronny Chieng, and Ken Jeong.
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is directed by Lauren Montgomery and co-directed by Steve Ahn and William Mata. Latifa Ouaou, Maryann Garger, Bryan Konietzko, and Michael Dante DiMartino serve as producers. Its screenplay was written by Tim Hedrick and Christopher Yost, with the story by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Tim Hedrick and Kenneth Lin.
