Zendaya made a stunning appearance at The Odyssey’s New York premiere. Her bold look blew up the event and the actress later shared that the outfit had a special story behind it.
The story behind Zendaya’s long-awaited premiere look
Zendaya arrived at the July 14 premiere in a white Matières Fécales gown with large feathered wings. The dramatic design gave her an angel-like look that matched the grand feel of the event. She finished the outfit with more than 30 carats of Chopard diamonds.
During the Live from E! stream, Zendaya revealed that the dress had been planned long before the premiere. “Law put this on hold a long time ago. Like, two years ago,” she said.
Her longtime stylist, Law Roach, first spotted the gown when it appeared in the Matières Fécales Fall 2025 collection. He immediately asked the designers to reserve it for Zendaya. She finally wore it to The Odyssey premiere nearly two years later.
Roach believed that the dress was made for this event. He wanted Zendaya’s look to feel both divine and theatrical, which made it the perfect choice for Christopher Nolan’s film, coming on July 17 in theaters.
Zendaya said she and Roach usually agree on their fashion choices because they have worked for years. “We’re usually on the same page,” Zendaya stated. “We have gone back and forth a few times. It’s family, so that’s how we do it,” she added.

The premiere was also special because Zendaya attended with her husband and co-star, Tom Holland. She secretly read part of The Odyssey script before joining the cast because Holland already had a copy. Zendaya called the script “extraordinary” and praised Christopher Nolan’s vision.
“I’m grateful to be a part of this entire experience,” Zendaya also added. “I’m still kind of pinching myself.” However, the whole night remained glamorous, fashion-driven and unforgettable for Zendaya.
