An upcoming Star Wars Disney+ TV series locks its trailer release date with a captivating teaser. The project will be a part of a new lineup of limited series based on the space-based franchise.
When is the trailer for the new Star Wars TV show being released?
A new teaser for Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi is out, ahead of the official trailer launch on July 2, 2026.
The limited anime series takes Kara’s story forward from the Star Wars: Visions TV show. She will resume the search for her missing father and evade the Jedi Hunters. The limited series comes from Lucasfilm and Production I.G.
With fresh, limited anime shows, creators of Star Wars: Visions will be able to expand on the characters elaborately. Interestingly, their stories are not deeply connected to the broader universe.
The popular franchise has even more animated series in the pipeline. There’s a project based on Darth Maul, titled Maul: Shadow Lord, which will arrive in 2026.
It will focus on the antagonist of 1999’s Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. The series will take place after the events of The Clone Wars, with Sam Witwer returning to voice the main character of Maul.

There’s not much known regarding this series at the moment, but Lucasfilm’s vice president of animation, Athena Portillo, has previously teased what fans can expect. “Unfortunately I can’t tell you too much, but what I can say is Sam Witwer’s involvement in the show has been pristine. I’m very excited about him being able to review the scripts and provide input in all of that as well.
As for Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, it has yet to receive an official release date window for Disney+.
