Zendaya confirms that she will take a break after a packed 2026. The actress told Entertainment Tonight at The Odyssey’s New York City premiere that she plans to step away from the spotlight. She has been promoting five major projects throughout the year.
Entertainment Tonight asked the actress about her plans once all promotions wrap up. “Oh girl, nothing,” she replied. “Just mind my business, you know? And stay to myself.” She added that the constant travel can be overwhelming. “This is such whirlwind, and you’re kind of like in a new place every second,” she said. “Sometimes you need to just, you know, disappear for a little bit.”
Zendaya’s 2026 began with The Drama and Euphoria season 3 in the spring. She then moved on to promoting The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer. Both films have July release dates. Her final press tour of the year will be for Dune: Part Three in December. Stylist Law Roach has worked alongside her on dozens of looks across all five campaigns.
The actress also spoke to ELLE for her summer 2026 cover story about the packed schedule. “It’s going to be a long year, but what’s great is that I’m really proud of everything,” she shared. However, she acknowledged the difficulty of staying idle. “As soon as I take a break, I start to go crazy. And I’m like, ‘I need to work,'” she said.
Earlier this year, Zendaya told Fandango she hopes audiences will not tire of her constant presence. “I just hope people don’t get sick of me,” she said. She also has one more project lined up for 2027 with Shrek 5. Fans can expect her to remain visible through year’s end before her planned hiatus begins.
