Jimmy Kimmel’s Other Celebrity Show Arrives Soon While His Late Night Break Continues

Jimmy Kimmel may be taking his annual break from Jimmy Kimmel Live!, but the television host will soon return to ABC with another project. Kimmel is set to host season 5 of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which returns with a new lineup of celebrity contestants. The latest installment marks his next television appearance while his summer break from late-night continues.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is less than a week away

Jimmy Kimmel’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Season 5 will return to ABC in less than a week, launching another highly anticipated round of celebrity contestants competing to raise money for charity. The star-studded season premieres on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with episodes available to stream the next day on Hulu, as per Late Nighter.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the upcoming season will feature 16 celebrity teams, each attempting to answer increasingly difficult questions in order to win the show’s $1 million top prize. The new season brings together a wide range of celebrity pairings from across film, television, comedy, music, and sports. Ben Affleck will compete alongside Jeopardy! Champion Jamie Ding, while Larry David is joined by his daughter Cazzie David.

The lineup also features Seinfeld stars Jason Alexander and Wayne Knight, Saturday Night Live comedians Colin Jost and Michael Che, and former SNL castmates Will Forte and Taran Killam. Also appearing are Michael Keaton and Jon Lovett, Jesse Eisenberg and Paul Giamatti, Awkwafina and Paul Feig, Billy Porter and Leslie Odom Jr., alongside Brad Paisley and Clayton Kershaw, among others.

Jimmy Kimmel has been involved with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire since long before Season 5. The celebrity edition has been hosted by him since its revival in 2020, with contestants playing on behalf of charitable organizations. Teams that correctly answer the $25,000 question are guaranteed to take at least that amount for their chosen charity before moving on to the grand prize.

The new season arrives following another strong awards run for the series. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire received Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Game Show. Meanwhile, Kimmel earned another nomination for Outstanding Host for a Game Show.
