Most Craved Takes on TV Revivals

As the number of TV revivals grows, which of your favorite shows would you most like to see return?

The television landscape is rapidly changing and fans are beginning to find that endings are no longer absolute. Coming up, we’re seeing new TV revival seasons of Full House, Gilmore Girls, Twin Peaks and Mystery Science Theater 3000, to name just a few. On this week’s Most Craved Jenna Busch of Legion of Leia joins William Bibbiani of CraveOnline for a discussion of the TV revivals they’d most like to see. Our own Silas Lesnick was out on assignment this week, but he’ll be back soon!

Of course, TV revivals aren’t necessarily a new thing. Series like Gilligan’s Island and I Dream of Jeannie received telefilm reunions long after the original shows went off the air. Due in part to the changing face of television, however, services like Netflix, Hulu and Crackle are providing audiences with more viewing options than ever before. As such, viewer nostalgia has become a powerful driving force when it comes to bringing shows back long after their original series finales.

There’s a question about how best to reboot a show. Some TV revivals, such as The X-Files, are bringing back the original stars, while others, like 24: Legacy, are keeping the original premise and bringing in new faces to continue the story. Is one format better than another or does it depend entirely on the series itself?

We’ve launched the official Most Craved Twitter feed and we’d love it if you’d give us a follow! What’s more, we’ve now got a visual Most Craved episode guide that you can check out in the gallery viewer at the bottom of this page.

Which TV revivals would you like to see become a reality? Are there any shows that you think would be better off getting full reboots? Let us know in the comments below!
