Peacock Debuts Saved By the Bell Teaser & More!

Peacock has released the first official teasers for their upcoming original films and shows including the Saved by the Bell revival; Demi Moore’s sci-fi dystopian series Brave New World; Steve Franks’s Psych movie titled Psych 2: Lassie Comes Home; Soleil Moon Frye’s Punky Brewster sequel sitcom; Glen Howerton’s comedy series A.P. Bio; BBC’s The Capture; the Madagascar spinoff prequel series titled Madagascar A Little Wild; David Schwimmer’s comedy series Intelligence; and Emmy Rossum’s Angelyne.  NBC’s newest streaming service had just launched its early preview yesterday for Xfinity X1 and Flex customers in North America for free. In the Saved by the Bell revival series, when California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over-privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.

The revival will feature the return of original cast members Elizabeth Berkley (Showgirls), Mario Lopez (The X Factor), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Mixed-ish) and Tiffani Thiessen reprising their iconic roles as Jessie, Slater, Zack and Kelly, respectively with Gosselaar and Thiessen only appearing in a few episodes. Joining them are the new young cast Dexter Darden, Josie Totah, Haskiri Velazquez, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Pena and Belmont Cameli.

 

Based on author Aldous Huxley’s 1932 classic novel of the same name, Brave New World is sci-fi dystopian drama series which follows the residents of New London, a future society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself.The series stars Demi Moore, Alden Ehrenreich, Harry Lloyd, and Jessica Brown Findlay.

Directed and executive produced by Psych creator Steve Frank, Psych 2: Lassie Comes Home will continue to follow James Roday and Dulé Hill’s crime-solving duo Shawn Spencer and Burton “Gus” Guster as they travel back to hometown Santa Barbara to help find the criminal who shot and almost killed Carlton “Lassie” Lassiter (Timothy Omundson, Supernatural).

The Punsky Brewster reboot is a 10-episode sequel sitcom which stars Soleil Moon Frye as she reprises her titular iconic role. The original series was created by David W. Duclon which ran on-air for four seasons from 1984-1988.

A.P. Bio, created by Mike O’Brien (Saturday Night Live), follows disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar Jack Griffin as he is forced to return to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio as an advanced-placement biology teacher, choosing not to teach the class in the slightest and instead focus on how to get revenge on his former rival Miles Griffin (Tom Bennett, David Brent: Life on the Road), while Principal Ralph Durbin (Patton Oswalt, Happy!) attempts to rein him in. It first aired on NBC in 2018 but was canceled after two seasons.

BBC’s spy drama series The Capture stars Holliday Grainger (Strike), and Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald). It also features Laura Haddock, Ben Miles, Paul Ritter and Ron Perlman.

Madagascar: A Little Wild is a spinoff prequel series based on DreamWork’s popular animated Madagascar films. It will center on younger versions of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo.

Starring Friends alum David Schwimmer, Intelligence is a British sitcom created by Nick Mohammed. It follows a maverick American intelligence agent and a hapless British computer analyst.

Angelyne is a limited series based on the real-life 1980s personality who became famous after appearing in a number of iconic billboards around Los Angeles. The series stars Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum (Shameless) with Sam Esmail who is serving as the producer.
