Zoe Saldaña is returning in Lioness Season 3 which now has an official release date. The Paramount+ espionage series will reunite Saldaña with Nicole Kidman later this year. The series, created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, was renewed late last year.
When is the release date for Lioness Season 3?
Lioness Season 3 will be released on Paramount+ on August 2, 2026. The new season will see many acclaimed actors reprise their roles, including Morgan Freeman and Michael Kelly.
The upcoming season’s synopsis reads, “Zoe (Saldaña) walks the line between duty and home as unseen forces circle her world. Patterns appear where they shouldn’t, names vanish, and paths rearrange. Guided by Kaitlyn (Kidman) and Westfield (Kelly), Joe confronts enemies operating in the shadows, leaving her to reckon with a war that now reaches into every part of her life.”
The show got off to a rocky start with its first season, but rebounded with an impressive 90% Rotten Tomatoes score in its sophomore run. It was Paramount+’s most-watched debut before being dethroned by others.
Besides Saldaña and Kidman, Lioness stars Morgan Freeman as U.S. Secretary of State Edwin Mullins, Michael Kelly as CIA Deputy Director Byron Westfield, Laysla De Oliveira as Sergeant Cruz Manuelos, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner as Bobby, Dave Annable as Neil, LaMonica Garrett as Tucker, James Jordan as Two Cups, and more.

Lioness is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, and Keith Cox. The show is a production by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
Sheridan is best known for creating the Yellowstone franchise, which spawned four more shows: 1883, 1923, Marshals, and Dutton Ranch. Sheridan also wrote and directed Wind River. The filmmaker received many accolades for penning the screenplays for 2015’s Sicario and 2016’s Hell or High Water.
