A full Avengers: Doomsday trailer has finally been released. The highly anticipated Marvel movie will be released in theaters later this year, while the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, arrives in 2027.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday will be the fifth film in the main Avengers franchise, following 2012’s The Avengers, 2015’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Like Infinity and Endgame, Doomsday and Secret Wars are both being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers.

What do we see in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer?
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer finally gives MCU fans a solid look at Doctor Doom, who is being played by Robert Downey Jr. in the film. Of course, Downey Jr. famously played Tony Stark/Iron Man in the MCU for a long stint; it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022, though, that he was returning as Victor von Doom. This was after Marvel scrapped plans to have the fifth Avengers movie be about Kang the Conqueror, a character previously played by Jonathan Majors before he was fired in 2023 for some legal troubles.
