What do we know about ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy Season 22?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 stars Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens Jr. as Richard Webber, Caterina Scorsone as Amelia Shepherd, Camilla Luddington as Jo Wilson, Chris Carmack as Link Lincoln, Kevin McKidd as Owen, Kim Raver as Teddy Altman, Anthony Hill as Winston, Jason George as Ben, Alexis Floyd as Simone, Harry Shum Jr. as Blue, Adelaide Kane as Jules, Niko Terho as Lucas, and more. This also served as McKidd and Raver’s final season as regulars. Despite exiting her series regular role in Season 19, Ellen Pompeo still serves as the narrator for the latest installment.

“After the catastrophic hospital explosion, Grey Sloan’s staff scrambles to save not only their patients’ lives but also their own. Confronted with impossible surgical decisions and emotional turmoil, they fight to preserve life amid devastation,” reads the Season 22 logline.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 was executive-produced by series creator Shonda Rhimes, showrunner Meg Marinis, and Pompeo. It has already been confirmed that the medical drama will return for its 23rd season, with Marinis set to return. Since its 2005 debut, the long-running TV show has maintained an average Tomatometer score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. In addition to the Season 23 renewal, it was previously announced that ABC has ordered a new Grey’s Anatomy spin-off, which will take place at a rural West Texas medical center.
