Danny Strong to Write The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

As the second film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, continues production, Variety reports that Lionsgate has hired Danny Strong to draft the two-part third and fourth film, Mockingjay.

Known as an actor with regular appearances on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Gilmore Girls” and “Mad Men,” Strong has recently made a name for himself as a writer and producer, winning two Emmys for his TV movie Game Change. He’s also writing and producing the upcoming The Butler, now in production.

Based on the third and final book in Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is planned to hit theaters on November 21, 2014 with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 following on November 20, 2015.
