MCU and DCU fans are arguing over which trailer is better: Doomsday vs. Clayface. Marvel Studios recently released the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, which brings nostalgia and excitement among fans. However, Clayface‘s trailer has intrigued not only fans but also horror enthusiasts.
What are Marvel and DC fans saying about the Clayface and Avengers: Doomsday trailers?
Two of the most anticipated movies of the year come from the Marvel and DC Studios. Recently, trailers for both upcoming movies were released. This led to the fans arguing over which trailer is better on X.
For instance, a post made by X user @Bodhi_Tweets said, “As far as trailers go…” which was later followed up with the repost, “As far as masks go…,” taking a jab at the Doomsday trailer.
Some users, like @SAGE_600, are reasonable, with comments like, “Obviously tbh, Clayface trailer told more without any fancy voice over, and new audience will be going in to see it clear of high expectations. But Doomsday trailer however, heavily carried by nostalgia without telling us any story or clues on what to expect whatsoever.”
However, others are arguing over the trailers, adding to the Marvel vs. DC never-ending saga. User @rainisdagoat posted, “The Clayface trailer came to save us from Avengers Doomsday.” Another comment pointed out that the DC movie’s trailer was just “intriguing,” adding, “I’m absolutely disgusted by the visuals.”
Moreover, a comment under a similar post read, “This is the reason why DCU fans are toxic and DC is dirt poor.” In response, another user stated, “Why r u shocked? they are like that. They are also bringing Dune everytime Dune trailers were released.”
Clayface is marketed as a body horror movie, pulling in DC fans as well as those looking for horror films around Halloween 2026. While Doomsday will see the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four members unite in a multiverse collision. Both movies mark a turning point in the franchises’ history this year.
The DC film is slated to release in theaters on October 23, 2026. This will be followed by the release of Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.
