DCU Chapter 1 plan

James Gunn Debunks Rumored DCU Chapter 1 Plan Leak

James Gunn continues to say that no one has figured out his overarching plan for the DC Universe. In a recent series of tweets, he confirmed more about the DCU Chapter 1 plan.

In a series of replies on Twitter, Gunn was asked if a “leaked” image’s content was true. The image showed a purported version of Gunn’s DCU Chapter 1 plan. It suggests that Chapter 1 would consist of Animal Man, Lobo, Justice League New Frontier, Superman vs. The Authority, Peacemaker Season 2, and a Mister Terrific project.

Gunn said that the image was not true. When asked again if there was any truth to it, said that not all of those projects would be included in Chapter 1. Gunn then reiterated that Peacemaker Season 2 would not be coming out until after his film Superman: Legacy — which is set for release on July 11, 2025 — made its way out.

Ever since the announcement of Gunn’s DC Universe, fans have speculated on just what it could include. Theories range from incorporating the supervillain Mongul into the DCU to eventually adapting the iconic Superman: Red Son storyline. However, not much has been found out just yet. With even more unknown DCU projects in production, it’s anyone’s guess as to what Gunn has planned.

The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature many different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
