25 DCU Chapter 1 Projects Are ‘In Mind,’ New Details Per Report

More projects in the DC Universe Chapter One have potentially been revealed thanks to the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast.

During the episode, industry insider Jeff Sneider noted that DC Studios has upward of 25 projects on its upcoming slate and that various movies and television projects are potentially leading toward seeing Superman take on The Authority.

“There’s a lot of rumors out there, just about DC projects,” said Sneider. “Supposedly the word on the street is that there’s 25 projects that James Gunn has sort of in mind, at least. And that those might include a Superman vs. The Authority movie. You know, if [Superman: Legacy] is the first movie, and The Authority is the second movie, it stands to reason, if they are, in fact, going in that direction, Superman vs. The Authority could be a movie down the line.”

Sneider also mentioned that a solo Lobo film could be in the works, which has been rumored for some time. Last year, rumors floated around that Jason Momoa had been in consideration to play the character, but nothing has been officially revealed as of yet.

The comments from Sneider link up with recent comments from co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn. Last month, Gunn said that as of now, “less than half” of the DC Studios Chapter 1 had been revealed.

The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
