After the success of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Varun Dhawan is returning for the third movie, Dulhania 3, with Janhvi Kapoor reportedly replacing Alia Bhatt.
The upcoming movie will see Shashank Khaitan’s return as the director along with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions as the producer. Reportedly, Janhvi Kapoor is set to replace Alia Bhatt in the third installment, while Varun Dhawan is confirmed to return as the lead.
Janhvi Kapoor to star with Varun Dhawan in Dulhania 3
As per reports, Alia Bhatt will not star in the upcoming installment, Dulhania 3. The makers of the movie have brought Janhvi Kapoor on board to play the lead opposite Varun Dhawan. While Alia Bhatt’s reason for the absence is unclear, this role would be Janhvi Kapoor’s first franchise movie. The Dulhania franchise also marks Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s second collaboration after Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal (2023).
The director has planned for Dulhania 3 to have a different storyline and characters, with no connection to the previous movies. It will follow a similar approach taken with Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). The movie has already commenced pre-production and is slated to begin filming in the coming months.
Varun Dhawan will commence shooting for Dulhania 3 after completing Atlee’s Theri remake. The actor will shoot for the movie alongside his father David Dhawan’s untitled comedy flick, scheduled to go on floors in April.
As for Janhvi Kapoor, the actress has several movies in the pipeline, after which she will begin shooting for Dulhaia 3. She will appear alongside Tiger Shroff in Rambo, as well as in Spider with Sidharth Malhotra and Ulajh with Gulshan Devaiah. She has already wrapped up her shoot for Mr and Mrs Mahi. The actress will also be making her Telugu debut in Devara.
