Anil Kapoor Gives Update on Nayak 2

Anil Kapoor shared exciting news about a highly anticipated project, Nayak 2. In a recent Instagram post, the Bollywood actor hinted at a possible sequel to his iconic 2001 film.

Anil Kapoor has been the talk of the town these days because of his latest release, Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios. The film was released in theatres on December 1, 2023, and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol.

Anil Kapoor’s Nayak 2 is happening

Anil Kapoor, a Bollywood actor known for several classic films, has proved his versatility across all genres, from comedy to thriller. Among his notable works, fans consider his political action thriller, Nayak, to be one of his best films. The actor recently revealed that a sequel is in the works.

The actor’s recent Instagram post featured himself and his Animal co-star Bobby Deol, both showcasing their well-toned bodies. In the comments, a fan expressed their desire for a sequel to the 2001 film, commenting, “Nayak 2 film bna do sir (Make Nayak 2). Both looking amazing.” Anil Kapoor responded to the fan’s comment, saying, “Jaldi ban rahi hain (it’s being made soon).” This interaction hinted at the possible production of Nayak 2.

Released in 2001, Nayak is an Indian political drama directed by S. Shankar. The film also stars Rani Mukerji, Paresh Rawal, and Amrish Puri. Sri Surya Movies produced it. The film follows the premise of the story of a common man, who became a Chief Minister for a day. The popular film has achieved cult status over the years. 

In this upcoming project, Anil Kapoor will appear in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan. The film is slated for release on January 25, 2024. In this film, the actor will play Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, with the call sign ‘Rocky.’
