DreamWorks and Frank Marshall Developing Horror-Thriller Cropsey

In Cropsey, a group of adolescents are haunted by an urban legend

Variety is reporting that DreamWorks Pictures and Frank Marshall are teaming up to make the horror-thriller Cropsey through the Kennedy/Marshall Company. The pitch is by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg, who will also write the screenplay. Jake Steinfeld is the executive producer.

The trade says that Cropsey “will center on a group of adolescents at a summer camp haunted by an urban legend that dates back to the Colonial period.”

The studio is said to be looking to mix horror and humor, much like Gremlins and The Goonies.

Marshall has been a producer on the “Jurassic Park,” “Indiana Jones,” “Bourne” and “Back to the Future” franchises.
