Waxwork Records used this weekend’s MondoCon in Austin, Texas as an opportunity to announce its October plans: A vinyl release of the score for Trick ‘r Treat, the Halloween-themed anthology horror film directed by Michael Dougherty.
The pics you see here were taken at Waxwork’s booth where the package was on display.
The score was done by Douglas Pipes (Monster House) and package art is by Francesco Francavilla. Shock was told this would ship around Halloween, so stay tuned for order details.
This is another coup for Waxwork. Trick ‘r Treat – since its release – has become a cult classic. A year ago, Legendary and Dougherty announced plans for Trick ‘r Treat 2 at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles.
Waxwork recently took pre-orders for a Friday the 13th vinyl release. Those begin shipping next week.
Titles released by the company to date include: Re-Animator, Day of the Dead, Rosemary’s Baby, Creepshow and Chopping Mall.
Trick ‘r Treat stars Dylan Baker, Anna Paquin, Quinn Lord, Brian Cox, Leslie Bibb among others. Also written by Dougherty – who is currently at work on a Krampus/Christmas anthology horror film for Legendary – the film features four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
Dougherty is also co-penning the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse for director Bryan Singer.
