Created with original film assets from Industrial Light & Magic and developed within Unreal Engine 4, Pacific Rim: Jaeger Pilot provides a thrilling first-person battle between Gipsy Danger and the kaiju codenamed Knifehead.
As someone who has never tried Oculus VR before, I found my mind being blown. Your slide on the head gear, put on some head phones and, suddenly, you’re in Gypsy Danger. Del Toro gave me a tip before the experience: “Look down and behind you, we put a lot of care into this!” And he wasn’t kidding, this is a fully immersive 360-degree experience. I looked down and suddenly found that my body was covered in Jaeger pilot armor. Behind me? Controls. Ahead of me, through the eyes of Gypsy Danger? A f**kin’ Kaiju!
I was sold and I wanted more. At the end of the experience, a giant 2017 flashes before your eyes. Why? Because Pacific Rim 2 is coming on April 7, 2017.
