Netflix’s Love Is Blind Season 9‘s recent episodes delivered all the drama and jaw-dropping twists. However, the least expected was Anna Yuan’s sudden exit. It led fans to wonder what went down behind the scenes.
Anna Yuan’s reason to leave Love Is Blind
While speaking with Netflix Tudum, Anna Yuan talked about why she left the pods and eventually exited Love is Blind Season 9.
From the looks of it, Yuan didn’t leave because of another contestant or some big fight, but to protect her own boundaries, as she didn’t feel very comfortable being vulnerable on camera.
“I started seeing myself being pretty vulnerable,” she explained. “And it scared me a little bit because this is an intimate part of my brain. These are very sensitive topics for me,” Yuan added.
Anna Yuan also started wondering if being part of the experiment was even worth it, and worried about how her choices might affect her parents back home since she couldn’t contact them during the first part of the show. “With my parents being immigrants and having a language barrier, I’ve always naturally been their helper,” she revealed.
On top of that, Yuan also felt guilty for joining the show. She thought she might be standing in the way of someone else finding their Prince Charming.
Before leaving, Yuan was supposed to go on a date with Patrick. She admits she felt a little bad about standing him up, but says she doesn’t regret it. “I don’t think I regret it because I don’t think the connections were strong enough to have a successful marriage from there,” she stated.
Soon after Yuan left the show, her co-star and another connection, Blake, walked away too. He backed up her choice, saying, “I think she made the right decision for herself at the moment, and I’m proud of her for doing that.”
Even though Blake had started to like a few contestants, he soon realized the experiment just wasn’t for him. He said that “a proposal wasn’t in the cards,” so he felt it was best to step away. Blake also made it clear that his decision to leave had nothing to do with Yuan’s exit.
