Viewers have been closely following the growing tension on motor yacht Katina, especially as Wihan’s leadership continues to falter. From on-deck conflicts to inappropriate workplace behavior, the Bosun has stirred controversy throughout the season.
Here’s what’s happened so far—and what might come next.
Does Wihan Du Toit get fired from Below Deck Down Under?
By Episode 10 of Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Wihan du Toit remains onboard but faces a likely dismissal. Captain Jason Chambers has repeatedly confronted him over poor leadership, lack of accountability, and inappropriate conduct.
Wihan, the Bosun of motor yacht Katina, became romantically involved with multiple crew members. He pursued both Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and Marina Marcondes de Barros early in the season. He then admitted romantic interest to his subordinate, Adair Werley, while on duty and later wrote her a letter stating: “I want to keep it professional at all times, but I won’t lie and say I don’t have feelings for you.” Adair responded by saying in a confessional, “He just doesn’t really seem like my type of guy… Wihan drives a Mini Cooper.”
Chief Stew Lara Rigby told Wihan that he had lost control of his team and that they did not respect him. Deckhand Harry Van Vliet remarked, “This isn’t The Bachelor, it’s a yacht,” and requested that Wihan provide written schedules to avoid confusion, to which Wihan replied dismissively that their jobs “aren’t rocket science.”
Captain Jason addressed Wihan about a safety incident involving a waterlogged jet ski. Despite crew warnings before the mishap, Wihan deflected blame and failed to take responsibility.
In Episode 10, Wihan clashed with both Harry and Johnny Arvanitis. After escalating arguments, Johnny declared he was quitting and yelled, “DON’T F*CKING TALK TO ME,” before punching a cabinet and covering the cabin camera. Captain Jason, frustrated by Wihan’s repeated failures and crew unrest, appears ready to make a disciplinary decision.
