Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 Release Date Revealed

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 Release Date Revealed, Comes With Ticket for Uncharted Film

After its reveal during September’s PlayStation Showcase, Sony had stated that the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, an upgraded bundle of the two PlayStation 4 Uncharted games, was coming out on PlayStation 5 in early 2022. Now, three months later, the company has gotten more specific. The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection PS5 release date is January 28, 2022 and will be $49.99 (but there are upgrade paths for those with the PS4 versions). The PC port is coming sometime after that at an undetermined date.

Sony also provided more details on this bundle on the PlayStation Blog. There will be three different modes to choose from: Fidelity, Performance, and Performance+. Fidelity runs the game at a native 4K at 30 frames per second. Performance mode targets 60 frames per second at an unknown resolution. Performance+ runs at 1080p at 120 frames per second, granted users have a display that supports that high of a frame rate.

The games will also take advantage of the hardware in other ways. Both titles will support haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers. Melee combat and riding around in the jeep were given as examples of areas where the DualSense features come more into play. It’ll also have dramatically faster load times upon booting and skipping cutscenes (as these games have no visual load screens aside from that) and 3D audio so players can more easily pick out where shots are coming from.

Users who already own the PS4 ports of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be able to upgrade on the PlayStation Store after paying a $10 fee. Sony’s post insinuates that those who only own one of the games on PS4 can also pay the $10 fee and get the whole bundle on PS5. Sony has also pulled the individual PS4 versions of the games from the PlayStation Store, meaning those who want to just buy one of those PS4 versions on the PlayStation Store in order to take advantage of this two-for-one upgrade deal can no longer do so digitally (players can still track down physical copies for this deal, though).

However, there are some caveats. Those who redeemed Uncharted 4 as a part of April 2020’s PlayStation Plus lineup will not be able to pay $10 for the upgrade. And those with physical versions of the PS4 versions will have to leave the PS4 disc in the PS5 console (assuming they don’t have the digital-only PS5) in order to play the PS5 versions, which is the case for premium PS5 upgrades.

Players who also buy or upgrade before February 3, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PT will get a voucher code valid for one ticket to see the Uncharted film starring Tom Holland. The code will be emailed to users in New Zealand, the U.K., or U.S. by February 9, just nine days before its February 18 premiere date. The offer is also only applicable at certain Regal theaters.

Sony also confirmed that there would be no multiplayer in this bundle, which was already strongly the case as the Nathan Drake Collection also did not carry over the multiplayer modes.
