Marvel Rivals just unveiled two exciting trailers for Season 9. NetEase and Marvel Games’ free-to-play PvP shooter’s upcoming season will bring new characters to its roster and maps plus a rework of the team-up abilities.

What do we see in the Marvel Rivals Season 9 trailers?
The Marvel Rivals Season 9 trailer, The Mystery of Thebes, focuses on the Collapsed Timeline. The upcoming season will see Apocalypse attempt to target the Gods before being killed. In its aftermath, the remaining heroes must investigate his death.
The trailer shows Apocalypse preparing to wage war against the gods, with glimpses of a fractured timeline as Marvel superheroes mourn their losses. In Egypt, he is worshipped by followers before being killed by an unseen figure. The trailer closes with a hint at The Hood’s arrival while also introducing the Convoy map, Thebes, arriving on July 23, 2026.
A second trailer shows Jubilee entering the arena. The X-Men member, most famous for appearing in X-Men ’97, will be a Strategist. The Hood will join the game in Season 9’s second half. Similar to the comics and the animated series, Jubilee’s attacks include setting off fireworks and throwing a barrage of energy plasmoids at her enemies. Her ultimate ability is a massive area-of-effect attack.

Marvel Rivals Season 9 will launch on July 10, 2026. The trailers don’t show it, but a Dev Vision video reveals that players will be able to engage massive team-up abilities, along with an update for Black Widow. Every Team-Up loadout will include a Base Effect and an Enhanced Effect. A new game mode, Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Age of Ultron, will be available starting July 30, 2026. The mode will let players take the battle to Ultron in the Data Space, plus feature new events in the Times Square lobby.
Marvel Rivals is available for free on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
