Russell Crowe Eyes Dracula Tale Harker

First announced for development at Warner Bros. just over a year ago, Harker is planned to offer a new take on the “Dracula” mythos. Today, Vulture reports that the project may have found its titular lead in Russell Crowe.

To be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown, Orphan), the script arrives as a spec from Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy (also attached to Pendragon), and is said to relocate Stoker’s tale to England where Jonathan Harker is tracking the monster on behalf of Scotland Yard.

Still far from signed, Crowe would fit in the project after a number of diverse upcoming roles. The actor will soon appear in RZA’s directing debut The Man with the Iron Fists, Allen Hughes’ Broken City, Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel and the big-screen version of the hit Broadway musical, Les Misérables. He’s also been named as a likely candidate for a leading role in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.
