Drew McIntyre and CM Punk will face off this weekend in a strap match at the WWE Bash in Berlin. Their intense rivalry has been brewing since the WWE Royal Rumble, when McIntyre’s actions injured Punk, sidelining him until WWE SummerSlam.
The tension between them escalated further when McIntyre made it personal on the June 21st episode of WWE SmackDown. McIntyre, who had a shocking comeback after leaving WWE, attacked Punk in his hometown of Chicago. Not only did he leave Punk bloodied, but he also stole Punk’s bracelet, which was gifted by a fan. It was a bracelet with the names of his wife, AJ Lee, and their dog, Larry.
McIntyre’s relentless taunting with the bracelet has clearly gotten under Punk’s skin. His mind games led to Punk losing focus during their SummerSlam match, where McIntyre once again walked away with the bracelet. Now, as they gear up for another showdown this weekend. The big question is whether McIntyre plans to break the bracelet to cause even more harm to Punk.
Drew McIntyre shares his plan for CM Punk’s bracelet
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre co-stars with Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, and Terry Crews in The Killer’s Game. While promoting the film, McIntyre was asked about CM Punk’s bracelet and his plans for it during an interview with Haley Miller of Comic Book. He shared that he always carries the bracelet with him and enjoys the emotional distress it causes Punk.
He stated, “It comes with me everywhere. What am I gonna do with it? I don’t know, I toy with the idea of breaking it but that’s too easy. It causes him just so much emotional hurt and stress It’s hilarious. Over something that’s, you know, just a piece of trash to me. Once I take him out of wrestling and I get surgery for my arm for all the high fives I’m given for taking Punk out of wrestling, I’ll probably frame it and put it in a nice little glass frame.”
As both men prepare for the clash, it will be interesting to see whether the bracelet will cost CM Punk his match again. Another thing to look out for is his attempt to reclaim it at the WWE Bash in Berlin finally.
