Mercedes Mone’s AEW Contract Details Unveiled

Mercedes Mone‘s debut took place on AEW Dynamite: Big Business in her hometown of Boston. Furthermore, recent reports have shed light on the details of her AEW contract.

Reports from Fightful Select behind paywall reveal that although her official debut occurred on March 13, negotiations with AEW had been ongoing for over two months prior. Discussions reportedly commenced as early as December, coinciding with Mercedes securing trademarks related to her name, hinting at a multi-year agreement.

Furthermore, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s involvement in negotiations played a role, indicating a potential partnership alongside AEW. However, AEW is expected to be Mercedes’ primary focus, despite her enduring a severe injury last year in May, necessitating extensive recovery and surgeries.

Initial talks between Mercedes and AEW had surfaced earlier, with WWE briefly in the picture before discussions stalled, leading to Mercedes’ eventual departure. Amidst speculations about her future appearances, AEW emerged as the frontrunner.

In January, discussions resumed, initially planning Mercedes’ debut for early January. However, her physical clearance delayed her debut. AEW strategically orchestrated her debut at the Boston event without prior announcement.
