The Young Bucks Target CM Punk on AEW Dynamite

On the recent edition of AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks talked about the tumultuous events, indirectly targeting CM Punk. Wrestling fans are familiar with the ongoing tension between CM Punk and The Elite.

In 2022, AEW All Out witnessed a backstage brawl involving CM Punk and The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega). Punk labeled them irresponsible EVPs, accusing them of spreading negative rumors about him. This led The Elite to confront Punk in his locker room, sparking a brawl. The altercation resulted in the suspension of all wrestlers involved.

Since the incident, Punk and The Elite have deliberately avoided sharing the locker room. The Elite continues to appear on Dynamite, while Punk features on AEW Collision. The underlying issues from the brawl remain unresolved. A year later, Punk faced further backstage trouble, leading to his termination from AEW in August, specifically after a confrontation with Jack Perry.

On the recent AEW Dynamite episode, The Young Bucks seemingly fired a shot during a sit-down interview with Renee Paquette. Asked to address promotions rumors, Matt Jackson mentioned their initial mission to change the world with AEW. He acknowledged a deviation from their path, attributing it to reliance on yesterday’s superstars.

He also mentioned how specific superstars altered the culture and introduced toxicity to the locker room. These remarks seem aimed indirectly at current WWE Superstar CM Punk.

The Young Bucks are set for a potentially huge match at AEW Revolution

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin faced off against Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs. The match was intense; Sting secured the pinfall victory by draping his arm over Hobbs. Following the match, AEW dropped a major clue, hinting at WWE Hall of Famer Sting’s final opponent in the promotion.

The Young Bucks who have been absent since AEW Full Gear, returned sporting brand-new thin mustaches, making a dramatic entrance to the ramp. They engaged in a tense stare-down with Darby Allin and Sting. A few months ago, WWE Hall of Famer Sting announced he would have his final wrestling match at AEW Revolution 2024 on March 3, 2024, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina the same PPV where he had his first match in 2021.

It looks like AEW is potentially setting up a tag team match between Sting and Darby Allin against The Young Bucks at Revolution.
