Percy Jackson Season 3 will push the Disney+ series into a much darker territory. Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, has already teased what’s coming. He said that the show adapts Titan’s Curse and that there will be bigger dangers and more emotional moments this time.
Why The Titan’s Curse makes Percy Jackson Season 3 much darker
In his conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Walker Scobell said the upcoming season is “definitely our darkest season yet.” He believed the third book was a real game-changer for Rick Riordan’s story.
The actor said, “When you’re reading the books, the first (The Lightning Thief) gets you into it, and then The Titan’s Curse is when it really hooks into the meat of the story.”
In accordance with Rick Riordan’s 2007 fantasy novel, Season 3 introduces a brief time jump following the revival of Thalia Grace (Tamara Smart). According to Scobell, Percy and Thalia immediately clash as both stubborn demigods compete for leadership on the team.
Executive producer Craig Silverstein thinks Percy and Thalia’s rivalry is at the heart of Season 3. Their connection to the Great Prophecy matters even more after Annabeth vanishes during a risky mission. Suddenly, Percy and Thalia have to set aside their differences and team up.
So, this season throws Percy, Thalia, Grover, Zoe Nightshade, and Bianca di Angelo together on a wild trip across the country. They’re out to save Artemis and Annabeth and will visit famous locations from the novel.
Apart from more exciting adventures, fans can also expect more powerful adversaries such as the Manticore, the Nemean Lion, and the metallic giant Talos. Scobell noted that Percy’s combat skills have grown substantially since his early adventures. “This time, I’m not just totally getting thrown around; I’m fighting back,” Scobell shared.
As per Silverstein, the series has become more serious and dangerous. There are more severe stakes, more frightening creatures, and more mortal deaths. Everything has been ramped up.
The third season will also see more prominence given to Artemis, Apollo, Hera, and Aphrodite. Additionally, Nico and Bianca di Angelo’s relationship will play a vital role in the plot.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 is scheduled to premiere globally on November 20, 2026, on Disney+.
