Percy Jackson and the Olympians is returning for its Season 3 on November 20, 2026. The new episodes adapt The Titan’s Curse, a book that star Walker Scobell believes shifts the franchise into something far more serious.
Why Percy Jackson Season 3 could kill off many characters
Scobell called the upcoming run the show’s “darkest season yet” in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Executive producer Craig Silverstein warned, “People are dying, and the stakes just keep dialing up, and getting more real.”
The young actor pointed to the source novel as the moment the story finds its weight. The narrative does not waste time easing audiences in. A brief time jump reveals Percy struggling badly with Thalia Grace’s resurrection, and their uneasy dynamic drives much of the tension. Both demigods sit at the center of the Great Prophecy, and neither knows who will ultimately tip the balance.
“They are both, as far as they know, the only children of the Great Prophecy,” Silverstein explained. “Is it going to be me or you?” That question hangs over every interaction. The forced partnership frays further when Annabeth falls into peril during a mission to extract Nico and Bianca di Angelo from Westover Hall. Stripped of his closest ally, Percy must abandon his impulsive instincts and become the careful strategist the quest demands.
The rescue mission expands rapidly. Artemis disappears while hunting the so-called Bane of Olympus, a creature rumoured to possess the power to dismantle the gods’ domain. Her lieutenant Zoë Nightshade assembles an unlikely team — Percy, Grover, Thalia, and Bianca — and launches a cross-country pursuit. Their journey cuts through the Garden of the Hesperides, the Junkyard of the Gods, and the Hoover Dam.
Silverstein noted that the production deliberately matured alongside its cast. Season 2 introduced more blood; Season 3 of Percy Jackson introduces death. The creature designs reflect that escalation.
