The Godzilla: Monsterverse TV show has added an MCU star and two other actors to its cast. The untitled TV series is currently in the early stages of production, with Wyatt Russell set to lead the cast.
Who has joined the cast of the new Monsterverse TV show?
Fantastic Four: First Steps star Ralph Ineson, along with Corey Stoll and Nyasha Hatendi, has joined the cast of the new Monsterverse TV series. The three new cast members will join Russell, Millie Brady, and Pilou Asbæk.
Russell will reprise his role as Young Lee Shaw from Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The story follows Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative who, in 1984, went on a secret mission behind enemy lines to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War. Apart from Fantastic Four: First Steps, Ineson is credited for Harry Potter, Werwulf, The First Omen, and Nosferatu, among other films. Stoll is known for The Strain, House of Cards, Billions, Imperfect Women, and Ant-Man. Hatendi’s notable works include The Seven Dials, Swan Song, Into the Dark, Blood & Oil, and Replicas
The Monarch: Legacy of Monsters‘ spin-off expands the universe’s story centering around humanity’s battle to survive in the catastrophic new reality of the monsters. The franchise kicked off in 2014 with Godzilla. It continued with Kong: Skull Island in 2017, Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019, Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire in 2024. The franchise will continue with Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, scheduled for release in 2027.
Russell also serves as the show’s executive producer alongside Joby Harold, who will serve as the showrunner. Tory Tunnell, Chris Black, Kyle Bradstreet, Alex Boden, Dillard, Andy Goddard, James Skotchdopole, Hiro Matsuoka, and Takemasa Arita will also serve as executive producers.
Harold and Tunnell are set to develop multiple Monsterverse-based series for Apple TV. The upcoming show does not have a release date yet.
