The Conjuring star recently spoke about the full-circle moment of his acting career.

Patrick Wilson worked with Kate Winslet in Todd Field’s Little Children back in 2006. Two decades later, he is now appearing alongside her son, Joe Anders, in Cape Fear. The psychological thriller miniseries premiered on Apple TV+ on June 5, 2026.

Recently, Wilson was asked about the moment by Entertainment Tonight in an interview. “Did you ever talk to Joe about 20 years ago, you were playing alongside his mom, now you’re his dad?”

The 52-year-old actor responded, “I did, but that’s always an interesting reference. Because you don’t know if he’s seen the film. ‘Did you see it?’ ‘No, I haven’t seen it,’ ‘Okay, good good good. You don’t need to.’ Anyway, we had a great time together.”

Wilson continued, “She’s, you know, one of the greatest. Such a pro. The apple doesn’t fall far…with him. You know, obviously, also his dad, Sam Mendes. That’s two powerhouse artistic folks right there.”

Patrick Wilson essays Tom Bowden, an attorney, and Joe Anders plays his son, Zack Bowden, in Cape Fear. The series is adapted from John D. MacDonald’s novel, The Executioners, and its subsequent film adaptations in 1962 and 1991.

The series also features Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, Lily Collias, CCH Pounder, Jamie Hector, Anna Baryshnikov, and Margarita Levieva, among others.

The official synopsis of Cape Fear reads, “Max Cady, a vicious and unreformed ex-convict, is released from prison and sets about taking revenge on Tom and Anna Bowden, the married couple who represented him 17 years earlier in court, by using his knowledge of the law to evade punishment.”

The first two episodes of Cape Fear are now streaming on Apple TV+, while the remaining eight will drop weekly.
