Seth Rogen is reviving an iconic ’80s TV show popular among dog lovers. The reboot will come from Rogen and his friend Evan Goldberg’s production house.
What 1980s TV show is Seth Rogen rebooting?
Seth Rogen will reboot The Littlest Hobo, a TV show from the ’80s about an ownerless German shepherd dog that helps people in need while wandering from place to place, reports Deadline.
The original Canadian TV series ran for six seasons on CTV from 1979 to 1985. It was based on a 1960s American TV show, which itself was inspired by a 1958 movie.
Seth Rogen’s The Littlest Hobo reboot TV show will be a live-action drama and a reimagining of the classic series. It will be produced by Lionsgate Canada in collaboration with Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey company. Rose Oushalkas and Christopher Dew will also serve as producers.
Expressing his excitement for the reboot series, Rogen said, “The Littlest Hobo was a foundational show of our childhood.” He added, “We are thrilled to have the honour of bringing it back for a new generation alongside our partners at Crave. And though the hobo may be little, we promise big things to come. That doesn’t mean the dog will be huge like Clifford. The hobo will still be little. But the adventures will be big.”

Childhood friends Rogen and Goldberg have previously worked together on multiple successful TV projects and movies, including Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Boys.
The duo also spearheaded the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles revival with 2023’s animated film Mutant Mayhem. Coming as a reboot of the TMNT movie franchise, the animated film earned wide acclaim from critics and fans alike. Currently, it holds a 95% Tomatometer score and a 90% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also a huge box office hit, earning over $180 million against a $70 million budget. A sequel is currently in the works and will release on August 13, 2027.
As for The Littlest Hobo, the reboot TV series has yet to receive an official release date window.
