Matt Murdock may be heading toward another romance when Daredevil: Born Again returns for its next season. New comments from one of the show’s stars suggest that the hero’s personal life will again become an important part of the story moving forward.
Karen and Matt’s romance gets new information from Deborah Ann Woll
Deborah Ann Woll recently spoke about how the relationship between Karen Page and Matt Murdock shifts in Season 2 of the Daredevil series. While promoting another project, the actress talked to The Direct and shared that the two characters develop a much deeper emotional bond after everything that went down in the previous season.
Woll explained that their connection grows stronger because both Karen and Matt often feel alone. They don’t have many people they can truly rely on. That shared isolation pulls them closer together. “Matt and Karen are both loners, and so they are pretty much the only other person that the other one has left,” she explained.
Season 1 ended with Matt and Karen working together again while planning to gather allies against the growing influence of Wilson Fisk, who had become mayor and launched a campaign against vigilantes. Because of that shared mission, the pair is expected to spend even more time together moving forward.
Woll hinted that this close partnership could naturally lead to something more emotional. She described their connection as one built on mutual support and reliance. There’s a “dependence and a reliance and a support of one another,” she said, suggesting that both characters may lean heavily on each other as the story unfolds. Fans already spotted a possible clue in the first trailer for Season 2. One moment shows Matt and Karen sharing a quiet dance together.
Season 2 brings back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, sharing the screen again with Deborah Ann Woll. The lineup also includes Vincent D’Onofrio and Wilson Bethel. The new season of Daredevil is set to drop on Disney+ in March 2026. In addition, Marvel Studios has already locked in a third season.
