Landman: Michael Peña Joins Cast of New Series From Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan

Michael Peña is the latest actor to join Landman, the upcoming series from Yellowstone creator Tyler Sheridan, as the upcoming Paramount+ crime drama continues to build up its ensemble.

Set to appear in a guest-starring role, according to Variety, Peña will play Armando Medina. The character is described as a veteran roughneck. Medina gets tasked with introducing a rookie to the life of an oil rig worker.

What is Landman about, and who else has joined the cast?

According to the official synopsis. “Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”

The cast of Landman already includes Demi Moore and Billy Bob Thornton in main roles, along with Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Andy Garcia (The Godfather Part III)

Peña most recently starred in the space drama A Million Miles Away for Prime Video. He’s also known for his roles in the first two Ant-Man movies, American Hustle, Shooter, Crash, World Trade Center, and Fury. On television, he’s had roles in shows such as Narcos: Mexico, Jack Ryan, and The Shield.

Currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, Landman is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, ​David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari​, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch, for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K.
