Kara Killmer Leaving Chicago Fire After Season 12

The Chicago Fire ambulance has lost another member.

While the 12th season of Chicago Fire will mark Kara Killmer’s return as paramedic Sylvie Brett, it will also be her last. According to TVLine, the actress will exit the NBC drama during the Season 12 run. The exact episode is yet to be revealed.

Killmer joined the procedural drama in the Season 3 premiere in 2014, replacing Lauren German’s Leslie Shay. The actress has appeared in 193 episodes, with recurring roles in other One Chicago spin-offs, such as Chicago P.D and Chicago Med

Season 12 of Chicago Fire, like other television shows, has also suffered delays due to Hollywood strikes. And while the long-running series announced its highly anticipated return, another character will be leaving the show, which is not old news for long-time viewers of Chicago Fire.

The synopsis for Chicago Fire Season 12 reads: “In the wake of a fire/extremist threat, Mouch’s life hangs in the balance. Sylvie’s relationship with Dylan came to a close, and a new door opened as Casey proposed to her, all the while as she was looking to adopt an infant girl. Stella makes the decision to leave Chicago in hopes of bringing Kelly back.”

Who Else Left Chicago Fire?

Killmer will not be the first star to ever leave the show. In fact, the entire One Chicago franchise has lost several cast members over the past years, so much so that it is now a constant occurrence at this point. Even so, the franchise — created by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt — has been one of the most successful franchises in television history.

On the Chicago Fire side alone, besides Killmer and German, a few stars also left the show, including Taylor Kinney (Kelly Severide), Jesse Spencer (Matt Casey), Yuri Sardarov (Otis Zvonecek), Monica Raymund (Gabby Dawson), Steven R. McQueen (Jimmy Borrelli), and Charlie Barnett (Peter Mills).
