Who Died in the Game of Thrones Series Finale?
For a series known for its massacres and the literal axing of main characters, the Game of Thrones series finale only had a small helping of blood. So if you’re curious about who met their end in last episode, it’s a pretty short list; and no one pictured above is on it.
The only people that died in the Game of Thrones series finale were a group of Lannister soldiers, executed by Grey Worm at the Queen’s directive; and the queen herself, Daenerys Targaryen, killed by her lover and nephew, Jon Snow. The death of the queen ends up being the catalyst for the rest of the episode, setting up a new world order as it were in Westeros and featuring a surprising figure sitting as King of the realm.

The final season of Game of Thrones won’t be our last trip to Westeros, as HBO has greenlit a pilot set 1,000 years before the events of the wildly popular sword and sorcery epic. Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse have been cast in the prequel series. S.J. Clarkson (The Defenders, Jessica Jones) will direct the pilot. In addition, other spin-offs remain in development, though their setting remains to be seen.
