AMC Eyes Breaking Bad Spinoff Focusing on Saul Goodman

“Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan has said in the past that he’d love to develop a spinoff following Bob Odenkirk’s Albuquerque defense attorney Saul Goodman. Today, Deadline reports that AMC is eyeing just such a project and that it could come to the screen as either an hourlong or half-hourlong comedy series.

Odenkirk made his debut in the second season of “Breaking Bad” and has remained a regular character ever since. Peter Gould, who wrote Saul’s debut episode, “Better Call Saul,” is said to be working with Gilligan to develop the potential series.

Gilligan is no stranger to spinoffs. In 2001, he served as executive producer on the short-lived spinoff of “The X-Files,” “The Lone Gunmen.”

It’s been online for a few years, but “Breaking Bad” fans should also be sure to check out the hilarious viral site for Goodman’s firm at BetterCallSaul.com.
