Chris Evans has revealed the Marvel actor he’s eager to work with on stage in a recent interview. The actor in question is Sebastian Stan. Evans and Stan previously starred together in the Avengers and Captain America films. Over the years, Evans has collaborated with several Marvel stars, including Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson, on a variety of non-Marvel projects.
Here’s what Chris Evans said about wanting to work with Sebastian Stan.

In a recent interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, Chris Evans revealed that he’s “dying to get on stage” alongside Sebastian Stan. Horowitz noted that Stan had been “bothering” Evans about the same. Previously, in a 2024 appearance on the Happy, Sad & Confused podcast, Stan jokingly told fans to grab Evans’ attention and get the latter to do a play with the former by doing whatever they could in their capacity.
Evans, however, pointed out his doubts about the sincerity of Stan’s intentions. He noted that whenever he called the latter about doing a play together, Stan would say that he was a “little busy.”
“I’m like, ‘Seb, stop using me in the press. Because I’m ready to get on stage with you,” Evans added. The Captain America actor soon acknowledged Stan’s Oscar-nominated status and the number of projects the actor was currently involved in.
Evans said that he loves working with Stan, noting how theater was “a massive commitment.” “You’re with the person all day, every day. So I would… kill to do it,” he added.
Both Evans and Stan have worked in theater. Evans debuted on Broadway in 2018’s Lobby Hero. Meanwhile, Stan performed in the Broadway productions Picnic (2013) and Talk Radio (2007).
Earlier this year, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Evans addressed Stan’s career outside Marvel. He praised the latter’s project choices and called the actor “fearless.”
“He takes big swings. When that Trump movie was kicking around, I remember thinking, I wonder who is going to take this job?” The Materialists star shared. “It’s just got so many strings attached to it. And I was so unsurprised when I heard it was Sebastian.”
