As I noted only a The Homesman is considered a strong candidate for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Now EuropaCorp has released a trailer for the film further suggesting we should expect to hear it announced this Thursday.
Jones has assembled a massive cast for the film, in which he stars as a claim jumper who, along with a pioneer woman, will escort three insane women from Nebraska to Iowa. Joining Jones are Hilary Swank as the pioneer woman Mary Bee, Grace Gummer, Miranda Otto, David Dencik, John Lithgow, Tim Blake Nelson, James Spader, William Fichtner, Jesse Plemons, Evan Jones, Hailee Steinfeld, Meryl Streep and Barry Corbin.
The film doesn’t yet have a domestic distributor, but should it end up at Cannes and be well-received it could very well have one soon enough.
