Clark Gregg discusses his appearance in Captain Marvel
Clark Gregg sat down with Entertainment Weekly and revealed how the version of Agent Coulson we will see in the upcoming Captain Marvel is different from the jaded, unfazed agent that audiences have grown to know and love since his first appearance in Iron Man. Because the new movie takes place in the mid-90s, we are seeing Agent Coulson while he is still wet behind the ears. However, Gregg paints a further picture of how innocent we should expect Coulson to be and lack of fashion taste that we have yet to be fully exposed to,
“He’s a relatively new S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who is obsessed with MC Hammer and dresses just like him, and it makes Director Fury so angry,” Gregg explained during the interview. “The genie pants don’t really go with the Armani.”
Gregg also remarked about how refreshing it was to go back to the past and approach the character from a younger, less experienced point-of-view: “There was something really special about going back to the early days when he was just kind of coming up the ranks. had to take innocence workshops and go back to when he was a little less crusty and jaded!”
