Spider-Man is no longer friendly, thanks to his creepy makeover in a brand-new Marvel comic series. The unique storyline will present the fan-favorite Marvel superhero in a never-before-seen look.
What does Spider-Man’s new costume look like?
Marvel recently announced its new Midnight Universe. This new line of comics will see many heroes getting a complete overhaul, including Spider-Man. The beloved character will appear in a brand-new costume in the upcoming Midnight Spider-Man issue.
Speaking more of his costume, it’s different than any other outfit Peter Parker has ever worn. This one evokes fear and horror, as the character is likely shown with an actual Spider attached to his chest.
The official synopsis for Midnight Spider-Man reads, “A young Peter Parker is transformed into a hideous spider hybrid by the ruthless Oscorp Corporation in their pursuit for eternal life. When Oscorp begins to use the secrets unlocked by his mutation to create more human-animal hybrids, Peter embraces his grotesque new form to stop them.”
One can expect a total revamp of Marvel characters under the Midnight series. The official description for this fresh universe reads, “In this new creator-driven line, some of Marvel’s most acclaimed modern talents are given free rein to take the world’s greatest heroes through chilling transformations. With limitless storytelling, shocking twists, and rich interconnected lore, the Midnight Universe is perfect for both new readers and longtime fans to enjoy.”
As for Midnight Spider-Man #1, it will see the character discovering that with great power, “comes something monstrous.”
Under the Midnight line, fans will be able to pick the cover of their choice easily. Starting with issue #1, each Midnight series will contain recurring themes across Covers marked A-E. With this new program, readers will be able to choose their favorites systematically. The themes for these covers are:
- Regular (Cover A)
- Midnight Bloodbath Variant (Cover B)
- Midnight Special Variant (Cover C)
- Midnight Horror Homage Variant (Cover D)
- Midnight Gallery Variant (Cover E)
The Midnight Spider-Man #1 comic, from Phillip Kennedy Johnson and ScieTronc, will go on sale on October 7, 2026.
