Marvel‘s big creative overhaul to bring a massive change to its setup after 90 years. The comic book publisher is owned by Disney and is known for creating fan-favorite characters such as Spider-Man, X-Men, Doctor Doom, Iron Man, and more.
What is the big change happening at Marvel?
Marvel Comics will relocate from New York to Hollywood. The news was shared with the staff at a town hall on Thursday at Marvel’s New York office in Midtown.
It’s been revealed that Marvel’s publishing division will now operate from Burbank, California. It happens to be the existing headquarters of Marvel Studios and the parent company, The Walt Disney Company, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Other changes are being introduced as well. Stephen Wacker, an Emmy-nominated editor, has been promoted to the new editor-in-chief, replacing C.B. Cebulski, who ran the publishing division for the past nine years. Cebulski will now head to Japan as an editor and manage the company’s heavy focus on manga.
The latest changes are expected to inject new life into Marvel Comics. It has witnessed a downward trajectory in recent years due to a lack of creativity. It resulted in Marvel losing its position as the comics market share leader for the first time this century, because DC Comics is dominating the sales charts with the Absolute Universe.

Launched two years ago, Absolute Universe has helped DC enjoy immense success as of late, especially due to the impressive performance of the Absolute Batman series alongside Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman.
In the past few months, Marvel has tried to come up with a solid response. It announced the Midnight Universe, a new terrifying series featuring some popular Marvel characters.
The upcoming Midnight line of comics, featuring Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, will go on sale in October 2026.
