Your Box Office Predictions as ‘Ninja Turtles’ May Challenge ‘Guardians’ for #1 after $4.6M Thursday Night

Box Office predictionsTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles got off to a pretty good start last night bringing in $4.6 million from Thursday night screenings and while tracking had the film opening in the mid-30s and the predictions below follow suit, this could translate to a $40+ million weekend and a legitimate challenge to Guardians of the Galaxy for #1.

Personally, I don’t see it. I think the predictions from Laremy and the readers below may be a little light when it comes to the Ninja Turtles, I expect a solid hold for Guardians and a second weekend at #1.

Also opening this weekend is Into the Storm, which only managed $800,000 from Thursday night screenings and I think it is far more likely to finish closer to the reader aggregate of $15.3 million than Laremy’s lofty $19.5 million prediction.

Finally, Step Up All In is a little more well regarded by the readers than Laremy, with the reader aggregate $1.7 million higher than our Oracle at $9.7 million.
