Actor Mark Ruffalo believes trillionaire businessman Elon Musk is “not Iron Man” but a “monster” instead. Known for speaking his heart out, the Marvel star has done so again while calling out the SpaceX CEO.
What did Mark Ruffalo say about Elon Musk?
Mark Ruffalo took to X recently to lash out at Elon Musk following an article in The New Yorker. It claimed that U.S.A.I.D.’s shutdown resulted in many deaths eventually. Referencing the article, Ruffalo’s post read, “Hello @ElonMusk you were once going save the world and abolish poverty, instead you have insured the deaths of 100s of thousands. And for what? Your own greed and hubris.”
The Hulk star condemned the businessman, saying he’s not the superhero he believes himself to be. “You had such potential. Squandered. You are not Iron Man, that’s for sure. You are not a hero. You are kind of a monster.”
The post also featured an excerpt from The New Yorker’s article that mentioned sources for “seven-hundred-plus thousand” deaths allegedly caused by the closure of U.S.A.I.D. The number is based on “a couple of different sources. One is a Boston University estimate. A separate one comes from an international study published in The Lancet,” the report claims.
When Musk was running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), it cut down funding for various government agencies, including U.S.A.I.D. This major decision came as part of the initiative to reduce government expenditure.
As for the actor, it’s not the first time he has trolled Musk online. Back in 2022, following his takeover of Twitter (now X), Ruffalo urged him to leave the social media platform. He wrote, “Elon. Please — for the love of decency — get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX. You are destroying your credibility. It’s just not a good look,” after X introduced a new subscription plan for people to get verified and have the blue tick mark.
