I’ve added the first official honoree at the upcoming 2014 Golden Globe Awards as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced Woody Allen will be honored with the 2014 Cecil B. DeMille Award.
heo Kingma, president of the HFPA, made the announcement saying, “There is no one more worthy of this award than Woody Allen. His contributions to filmmaking have been phenomenal and he truly is an international treasure.”
This year Allen wrote and directed Blue Jasmine starring Cate Blanchett, whom is already considered the front-runner for Best Actress at the 2014 Oscars for her lead performance. Allen also starred in John Turturro‘s Fading Gigolo, which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival (read my review here) and was later picked up by Millennium Entertainment for release.
The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014, live coast-to-coast on NBC at 5:00-8:00 p.m. (PST)/8:00-11:00 p.m. (EST).
