Release Date for Christopher Nolan’s New Movie ‘Interstellar’ Set

Paramount and Warner Bros. are teaming on Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar, the helmer’s follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises, and have set a November 7, 2014 release date for the feature.

The film, which currently is without a cast and involves time travel and alternate dimensions in a story that sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole. The script is based on scientific theories developed by a Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, a gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Caltech. Like Inception, the story is said to be “complex and multi-layered”.

The official line from the studio reads: “The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.”

Steven Spielberg was once attached to direct, but once Nolan got his hands on the previous screenplay he’s having his brother, Jonathan Nolan, give it a rewrite with a few new ideas of his own.

Interstellar currently sits on the November 7, 2014 release date all on its own, followed two weeks later by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 on November 21. The date also gives 2014 Toronto Film Festival attendees something to be hopeful for.
