Today was light on the movie front as I saw only one film and screened some footage from a trio of new Weinstein features, but tomorrow morning I’ll be seeing Andrew Dominik‘s new film Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, Richard Jenkins, Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn, but today we get the first poster from the film courtesy of Annapurna Pictures.
Killing Them Softly is set in New Orleans and adapted from George V. Higgins novel “Cogan’s Trade.” The pic follows professional enforcer, Jackie Cogan (Pitt), who investigates a heist that occurs during a high stakes, mob-protected, poker game.
The film will hit theaters on September 21 and I will have a full review for you tomorrow. In the meantime, check out the minimalistic poster below as I’m sure a more general audience-ready theatrical version will accompany its release later this year. So, for now, let’s be happy with this early piece of art.
