I have arrived in Cannes and started making the rounds around the Croisette where things are still being assembled, but already up and just outside the Grand Lumiere Theatre is the above poster for Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained, which is set to hit theaters this Christmas.
The film centers on a freed slave (Jamie Foxx) who seeks to reunite with Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), his slave wife, a journey which will see him team up with Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a German bounty hunter, to take down Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), an evil plantation owner.
Additional members of the stacked cast include Samuel L. Jackson, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, M.C. Gainey, Don Johnson, Tom Savini, Anthony LaPaglia, RZA, Misty Upham, James Remar, Rex Linn, James Russo and Tom Wopat.
