If Atonement is art then The Bourne Ultimatum is pure adrenaline. I know I have been singing the praises of Atonement as the best movie of 2007, but as I made my top ten I just couldn’t get the entertainment value of Bourne out of my head. My top ten is based on several factors, but the most important is what I call the “Rewatch Factor” and I will be watching Bourne Ultimatum over-and-over again. Of course I will probably plug Atonement in several times as well, but I am sure Bourne will get at least one more screening in my household. Very rarely does the third film in a trilogy actually end up being the best, and off the top of my head I can’t think of another trilogy in which the third film actually surpassed the two before it. Although Supremacy was quite good, Ultimatum took everything that was good about both Identity and Supremacy, changed ’em up a bit and slapped them all into one great film, making it my ultimate #1 movie of 2007.
